Project Overview

Exhibitus engaged Blue Water Builders to consult on and construct a 4,600-square-foot freestanding exhibit hall within Amada’s existing Schaumburg facility. Designed to welcome domestic and international clients, the space showcases Amada’s advanced machinery in a contemporary technology and demonstration environment. The project combines high-end architectural finishes with the functional requirements of an active industrial setting.

Project Highlights

• Custom structural steel supports and angled aluminum framing integrated within architectural wall assemblies to execute the exhibit hall’s complex geometry.

• Rift-cut oak exterior feature walls and flat-cut walnut interior finishes, coordinated with custom cabinetry, millwork and exposed wall-top detailing.

• Custom laminated-glass storefront systems and an automatic sliding entrance integrated with surrounding structural supports and architectural finishes.

• Specialty architectural trellis incorporated into the north and west feature walls.

• Level 5 drywall finishes, architectural reveals and metal capping creating clean transitions between wood veneer, glazing, EIFS and drywall.

• Three coiling overhead doors, architectural lighting, signage power and technology infrastructure incorporated into the finished space.

Blue Water’s role extended beyond construction to resolving how the exhibit hall’s detailed architectural elements would come together in the field. Our team coordinated structural steel, framing, glazing, millwork, electrical and specialty finishes through careful sequencing and attention to adjoining materials. The completed hall provides a distinctive setting for Amada’s technology, reflecting Blue Water’s ability to translate a client’s vision into a highly personalized space built around its business.
