Project Overview

Blue Water Builders discovered an abandoned 1963 Oren Pumper Truck at a jobsite in Roselle, Illinois. Originally dispatched from the Washington Fire Station in Port Chester, New York, the vintage truck had decades of history—and plenty of character worth preserving.

Rather than let this unique piece of firefighting history disappear, the Blue Water team saw an opportunity to give it a second life. What followed was a complete custom transformation combining restoration, fabrication, technology, and creativity. Today, the truck serves as a mobile gathering and entertainment space used for parades, corporate events, celebrations, and other special occasions.

Project Highlights

• Complete restoration and custom paint job incorporating Blue Water Builders’ branding while preserving the character of the original 1963 Oren Pumper Truck.

• Custom reupholstered seating featuring the Blue Water logo and details designed specifically for the truck.

• Custom-built cooler and transmission developed in collaboration with one of Blue Water’s clients.

• Motorized actuator system that raises and lowers a 65-inch flat-screen television, integrating modern entertainment technology into the vintage vehicle.

• Conversion of the original hose and tank storage area into a picnic and social space where guests can gather.

• Four custom beer taps integrated into the truck for events and celebrations.

• Cotton candy, popcorn, and Slurpee machines incorporated to create a distinctive event experience.

• Combination of custom fabrication, restoration, mechanical work, and modern technology to transform an abandoned vehicle into a functional mobile gathering space.

The completed truck is more than a restored piece of equipment. It represents the creativity and problem-solving that Blue Water brings to its work—seeing potential in something unexpected and finding a way to build something entirely new while respecting what came before.

What began as an abandoned 1963 fire truck is now a one-of-a-kind Blue Water experience, ready to make an impression at parades, company events, celebrations, and community gatherings for years to come.
